Database Administrator - Junior-Intermediate
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Assist the technical group in various activities including:
- Troubleshooting Oracle tools related networking issues
- Running SQL scripts for schema updates
- Configuring VPN connections to various client sites
- Installing code drops on client sites.
- Managing local dev, test, and integration environments.
- Execute routine administration tasks on client and local databases
- Assist and provide input with the various roles of configuration management.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong Proficiency in Oracle database 9.x and higher
- Oracle 10g (Release 2 and 3) – knowledge of RAC installations
- Oracle 9iAS (Release 1 and 2)
- Oracle Developer (Forms and Reports version 6i and 9i)
- Oracle Designer
- Proficiency in SQL , PL/SQL and relational database technology
- Knowledge of UNIX, LINUX and Windows environments including scripting
- Familiarity with J2EE administration of well known application/web servers in the market including Oracle, Orion, Weblogic, TomCat and JBoss is desirable
- Familiarity with well known web servers in the market like Apache, IIS is desirable
- Familiarity with well known database products in the market including SQL Server, DB2, MySQL, TOAD, TORA, ERWIN is desirable
- Business Objects / Crystal Reports Server Administration knowledge.

- Excellent written, verbal English communication skills and documentation skills.
- University or College education in computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical skills
- Flexible, self-starter; able to work as a team member or independently.
- Ability to relate well to clients in a professional manner.
- Professional demeanor.
- Willingness to work overtime to meet important client deadlines, when needed.
- 5-20% travel to client sites across the United States and Canada.
- Knowledge of public sector operations would be an asset
